“The Rat”

An exhibition by 9 young artists from the group “Hanoi Link”

From the press relaese:

“The Rat”

The artist group “Hanoi Link” was founded in May 2006 and today has 12 active members, including painters, musicians, graphic artists, journalists and critics. The group works in various genres of contemporary art, enjoys experimental work, and seeks new media and forms to express the new realities in Vietnam, which are increasingly complex and convoluted.

After several exhibitions both in Vietnam and in other countries, “Hanoi Link” is making a name for itself as a young, dynamic group with new and original artistic ideas.

To celebrate the new year 2008, Goethe Institute presents “The Rat”, an exhibition including work from 9 members of the group: Nguyen Thanh Hoa, Nguyen Hoai Van, Duong Quy Duong, Nguyen Ban Ga, Can Ngoc Chuc, Nguyen Anh Tuan, Nguyen Huong Giang, Nguyen Khac Chinh und Phan Le Chung

Their work (video art, installation, performance) shows Vietnam’s people and rapidly changing society from a variety of viewpoints – critical, ironic, humorous, but also with great sympathy and understanding – and from the perspective of a young generation of Vietnamese artists.

The artists will be present at the opening.
