Polish poster art

15 posters aim to give a panoramic view of Poland

This exhibition opened last week, but I stumbled across the info somewhat later…

From the Viet Nam News article:

Poland is famous around the world for its poster art, also known as “the art of wall and board”. It gained worldwide recognition when the first poster museum was opened in Warsaw in 1968, followed by a unique Polish poster art school.

Today its poster art is part of Polish pop culture. Galleries specialising in poster art are common and annual – sometimes even monthly — poster competitions, are held where members of the Polish public can vote for their favourites.
