Literature Cafe December 2007

Theatrical reading of Harold Pinter’s play

“At our literature café this month, one of the best plays of UK playwright Harold Pinter entitled ‘The Old Times’ will come to life with a theatrical reading by artists of the Hanoi Youth Theatre.”

More from the press release:

The evening will include a very interesting discussion with well-known Vietnamese writers – Dương Tường, Phạm Xuân Nguyên, Lê Anh Hoài on different aspects of the ‘Theatre of the Absurd’ i.e. definition, history and typical playwrights of the type. An extract of a play entitled ‘Love’ by writer Le Anh Hoai will also be featured at the event.

This is the eighth activity of our regional literature project in Vietnam which aims to raise awareness of such subjects as reader development, literature performance events to encourage reading, translation, literature in creative writing, and literature for young people.

Invitations available at the British Council from 11 December 2007.
