Where do YOU go next?
In February, 2008, Nguyen Thu Ha was one of the three young artists selected to exhibit in “3 days 3 artists” at L’Espace-French Cultural Centre in Hanoi.
We were impressed with her installation “Where do YOU go next” and invited her to re-install it in our art space this month as a solo exhibition.
Her work, which includes video, asks the viewer to look beyond glossy, tourism advertisements, the seduction of scenery, the hedonism of adventure and, for a while, become empathetic with the local people and their culture. Ha’s social commentary is both whimsical and topical.
